What better time to consider selling your timepiece?

We have our Summer Sparkle Auction ✨approaching next month and what better time to consider selling your timepiece?

We offer a competing commission rate when selling at auction as well as a complimentary pre-auction authentication and valuation service.

We are welcoming brands like Rolex, Cartier, TAG Heuer and many more. The watch market is in a great place, seeing hammer prices increase, meaning vendors are receiving a greater return.

If you have a watch, you may be looking to sell, please feel free to contact our team who will be happy to answer any questions you may have or arrange for you to visit our offices for a consultation.

In honour of our upcoming auction, we thought it would be a great idea to revisit some of the timepieces we have sold in the past both at auction and privately to our lovely bidders & clients.

Starting with the infamous model 126610, the Rolex Submariner stainless steel superlative chronometer featuring a black dial housing a date aperture at 3 O’clock surrounded by a stainless steel unidirectional bezel with a black aluminium 60-minute insert. This particular watch comes on a Rolex stainless steel Oyster bracelet. We have seen this model go under the hammer many times all having different production years. Most recently we sourced and sold a 1990s model full set for £8500. As demand increases so does the price which is great for the bidders who purchased with us back in 2020 & 2021. As discussed in our previous blog timepieces can be deemed as an investment which can be proven with the results achieved over the years.

Last year this gorgeous 1990 Rolex 18ct Gold Daytona with Zenith Movement, Inverted 6 Black Diamond Dial Model 16528 full set went under the hammer for £39500 including fees. The Daytona has been highly sort after by the female market over the past few years as the desire for a larger face has increased. Recent releases by Rolex indicate they are picking this up with the DateJust 41 & Submariner which now comes as a 41mm.

Moving onto Cartier, this 2016 Santos 100 full set sold at auction for £4650. Cartier is a renowned worldwide brand and does not need much introduction. This was a great investment and keepsake for our bidder, as Cartier later went on to redesign this model of watch in 2018. This watch stormed through the markets in the ‘go-go 2000s’ however, Cartier knew it needed a change.

Although Cartier’s portfolio holds some of the most popular larger-faced watches they are also known for their slim & elegant models like the Tank Francaise. We sold a Diamond encrusted 18ct gold Tank Francaise for £9796 including fees at auction back in 2020. The watch attracted a lot of attention with a huge sum of 24 bidders. Informally this watch can be described as a ‘Bussdown’ which is perfect for this time of year and catching the Summer sun.
